First look: See Anthony Hopkins' mean profile of Alfred Hitchcock

Fox Searchlight have released the first official image of Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins made up as iconic film director Alfred Hitchcock. The resulting similarity is uncanny!

'Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho' is many months away from hitting the big screen yet, but the excitement level over the project has just skyrocketed.

Hopkins' co-star Scarlett Johansson revealed her excitement for the project that begins shooting soon: "I've seen some makeup tests recently, and just watching him play Hitchcock is pretty memorable in itself. He's gonna be bananas! I can't wait for that — I'm very excited."

Johansson has been cast as Janet Leigh who played the ill-fated Marion Crane in Hitchcock's classic macabre thriller 'Psycho'.
 
Hitchcock was as, if not more, famous than the stars of his films. His blackly comic sense of humour and slow drawl helped to publicise his films like no other director could hope for. Check out this delicious, lengthy vintage trailer for 'Psycho':
