And the world's top 10 highest paid actors are...
By Dave Lancaster
The numbers don't lie... Robert Downey Jr is the world's highest paid actor. And if that wasn't impressive enough, it's the Iron Man star's third year in a row at the top spot.
The double Oscar nominee is without doubt the biggest asset Marvel has in their already star-heavy superhero arsenal. And he's very well compensated with $80m for the last year alone. He'll be cashing in big time for his contributions to Avengers: Age of Ultron and continuing returns from the Iron Man franchise.
The nearest competition is martial arts superstar and stunt-loving box office heavy hitter Jackie Chan who has made a surprise re-appearance in a podium position despite a lack of Hollywood megahits of recent years. Just behind him is another muscle man, Vin Diesel with $47m - the bulk of which will come from the Fast & Furious franchise.
Man of the moment Bradley Cooper is continuing his meteoric rise. He's been nommed for four Oscars in three consecutive years (three for performance and one for producing Best Picture nominee American Sniper) and now the Hangover star edges just past Adam Sandler to claim the number four slot with a cool $41.5m.
The evergreen Tom Cruise collected $40m to cruise comfortably into sixth position. Sandwiched between Cruise and number 10's Mark Wahlberg is a trio of Bollywood big swingers: Amitabh Bachchan ($33.5 million), Salman Khan ()$33.5 million) and Akshay Kumar ($32.5 million).
