First look: Futuristic box set for 'I, Robot' 3D Blu-ray debut

Every once in a while, a studio will really pull out all the stops on the home entertainment release of one of their popular films and 20th Century Fox have certainly done that with the October 22nd Blu-ray 3D debut of 'I, Robot'.

'Dark City' auteur Alex Proyas directed the adaptation of Isaac Asimov's stellar short stories in 2004, casting the ever-engaging Will Smith as a detective in the future who investigates the death of a robotics exec. All clues point towards a robot as the main suspect, but robots are programmed specifically not to kill. Did this one?

At the box office, the film nearly returned its $120m budget three times over, becoming one of the biggest hits of the year. It did well with the critics too, making this new Blu-ray all the more pleasing. It's been redone in 3D, adding an extra dimension as well!

I, ROBOT comes alive like you have never seen it before. 

The 2004 summer hit starring Will Smith and featuring Sonny, the robot with free will, will be released on 22 October for the first time ever in eye-popping 3D only on Blu-ray 3D from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. 

This all-new revolutionary Blu-ray 3D will be available in a variety of product offerings to add to 3D collections in the home.  For the ultimate fan is the Limited Edition “Sonny Sculpture” Gift Set which in addition to the 3D format includes Blu-ray 2D and DVD versions of the film and a DVD special features disc.
