Summary: Eye-popping 'Piranha 3DD' makes a big splash before waterlogging itself in excess.
When films like this don't go straight to DVD, it says something worrying about the state of cinema. Yep, 'Piranha 3DD' is just as garish as its title would suggest. It's also a lot of fun if you like that sort of thing.
As guilty as guilty pleasures get, 'Piranha 3DD' isn't so much a film but rather a collection of immature scenes cobbled together to overload the viewer with sex, violence and indeed big breasts.
The loose plot sees a particularly nasty breed of piranha attack a water park (whose lifeguards have been replaced by "water certified" strippers) while the few characters who care about people other than themselves try to thwart their advance towards innocent bathers.

Throw in appearances by a crazed-looking Christopher Lloyd, a most likely crazed in real life Gary Busey and a showboating extended cameo from David Hasselhoff and you've got a recipe for reheated leftovers from the first film.
You know what you're paying for with films like this but this is a particularly lazy example of genre filmmaking that tries to spoof others but lacks the knowledge or wit to pull it off.
The Blu-ray throws inexplicably throws in a short film starring John McEnroe that has nothing to do with fish. There's also a gag reel/featurette tracking Busey's outbursts and a few other fluff pieces.
