The force is strong in these ones... Your favourite Star Wars characters revealed!
The most highly anticipated movie of the past decade is now, at last, upon us. We’ve already had every conversation of the past couple of weeks be at one point dominated by the release of the trailer, which carefully eludes to everything whilst also saying nothing at all. Because thanks to the marketing moguls behind the film’s release, everything is up for the guessing. The conspiracy theories however, keep on coming, most notably those that relate the new characters of Star Wars: the Force Awakens back to the ones that we have grown to love and know.
A recent survey by Best Offers Bingo asked a question that’s never been more relevant: who is your favourite Star Wars character? Here we rundown on the results and revisit our favourite Star Wars characters before the highly awaited release of director JJ Abrams latest instalment, Star Wars: the Force Awakens.
5. Yoda - 141 votes
The sentinel warrior to the Saga, at over 800 years old. Luke Skywalker enlisted Yoda on his journey to become a Jedi Knight, to which our favourite little green wise man was undoubtedly instrumental. Aside from being insanely quotable and the best mentor around, his skills in lightsaber combat is the stuff of legends.
4. R2-D2 - 153 votes
Side by side with C-3PO (though Darth Vader may stand between them on this list), R2-D2 is the droid we’re looking for when we call to mind our favourite Star Wars characters. He’s allegedly all knowing, with countless conspiracy theories floating around regarding his lack of a memory wipe, unlike his golden companion, C-3PO. He’s been around for all the rough and tough times, often playing an instrumental part in the future of the Empire as a companion for Padme, Anakin and Luke.
3. Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker - 166 votes
So many plot twists. Darth Vader / Anakin Skywalker’s story is truly one of rich character development, with the good in Anakin slowly being snuffed out by the impending evil that ultimately consumed him. Darth Vader is possibly one of the most magnificent villains of all time.
2. C-3PO - 183 votes
Rebuilt by Anakin Skywalker himself, he’s a human protocol droid programmed for etiquette and not destruction. Though he’s more often than not fraught with worry and concern, this doesn’t stop C-3PO from ending up right in the centre of the action and often enough, saving the day. As he loves to remind us, he’s fluent in over six million forms of communication, C-3PO is a friend to all.
1. Han Solo - 216 votes
Could there have been anyone else? The point of aspiration for every kid from her to a galaxy far, far away, Han Solo is well and truly at a legend status. He’s a smuggler, hero and scoundrel. He captains The Millennium Falcon along with his furry co-pilot, Chewbacca and is known to be one of the greatest leaders in the Galaxy.
The best of the rest:
Princess Leia - 129 votes
Luke Skywalker - 126 votes
Chewbacca - 120 votes
Obi-Wan Kenobi/Ben Kenobi - 50 votes
Admiral Ackbar - 48 votes
Jar Jar Binks - 38 votes
Princess Amidala - 35 votes
Count Dooku - 33 votes
Lando Calrissian - 18 votes
Mace Windu - 15 votes
Boba Fett - 13 votes
Darth Maul - 11 votes
