Harrison Ford signs on for 'Anchorman 2'

Big news, film fans: 'Indiana Jones' star Harrison Ford has signed onboard for comedy sequel 'Anchorman 2'.

The Oscar nominee will star alongside  Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner who all return in their roles from the original cult classic as well as franchise newcomer Kristen Wiig of 'Bridesmaids' fame.

It's going to be busy patch for Ford who is also attached to new films in his starmaking 'Star Wars' and 'Indiana Jones' franchises as well as epic sci-fi 'Ender's Game', business thriller 'Paranoia' and another project entitled 'You Belong to Me'. Ford recently wrapped sports drama '42' for writer/director Brian Helgeland.

Little is known about 'Anchorman 2' but the Hollywood Reporter stated that Ford will indeed be playing a rival anchorman. Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay penned the script which is being fasttracked at Paramount.

Ford played a newsreader before in the 2010 comedy 'Morning Glory'. He was Oscar nominated for his work in 1985's 'Witness' but lost out to William Hurt for 'Kiss of the Spider Woman'.
